As many of you know, IWC is a sponsor of the WatchTime dinners throughout the U.S. during which Jeff Kingston presents on what many brands show at the Basel and SIHH shows. I previously reported on the San Francisco and Los Angeles events, and just returned from the New York and Philly shows (I missed Miami, and the Chicago event is later this month).

Both shows were great. I know Bill Barker is planning an extensive report in this forum's Community section. Early next week, I've been promised photos from the New York event, and Bill sent me some of his photos. As a preview, I thought I'd share a few with everyone.

First, here's me with Kim and Alysia from IWC --a tough job, but somebody has to do it:

Actually I did have some "work" --showing the novelties to collectors:

And the best part, by far, is visiting with forum members:

Top row: Bill Barker, Alan Ross, and yours truly
Bottom row: Dan Kremens and Stu Mogell

Be sure to look for Bill's report --there's lots of photos.

Looks like you all had fun. I am sorry I could not attend. I was in Manhattan until 10 Sep, and wearing my CF da Vinci! Next time, for sure.

It was a fine show as usual. As MF stated, the best part was meeting other watch enthusiasts and old friends. I know Bill took a ton of pictures so I will await his posting as well.

Too bad you weren't at the NYC event --if only because there should be a photo of 2 CFDVs (mine and Evan Nanos') published here next week. Imagine a photo if there were 3 CFDVs!

You look mighty happy in that first photo...and the CFDV shows up well also! It appears like a very nice time was had by all! I'm gonna do this next year even if I have travel some distance!

Thanks Michael, good to see you all had a good time and IWC was so popular. Any chance of such a great event in Europe?

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

You guys already have almost the entire mechanical watch industry at your doorstep.... we have to have an occasional tasting. LOL

Michael, indeed the first thing I noticed.....such a tough job! What can one say? Rather you than me Sir.

The second thing I noticed (and I had obviously missed a posting somewhere that you had received yours) it that truly magnificent CFDV on your wrist !

I am sorry I could not make these events. I've been in Atlanta late last month, and am on my way there again next week, so my travel agenda is grueling and keeping me away from the meetings and shows. I fully support Clemens posting above - can we not get some Europe side events going?

    Best regards
    Mark

Shame indeed, and what a shot that would have been :)
The event was great and Michael was a very gracious host as he always is.

    Cheers,
    Evan
