i am looking to add a second IWC to my BP 5009

my long term IWC goals look something like this:

    Existing owned BP
    Portugese 500705

    Portugese 5033 or 5034
    BP Perpetual calendar

    Minute repeater

i could get the 5007 now or perhaps wait 6 months are stretch to a Perpetual BP assuming a new one that i like is released.
if i end up with only the two BP's and have to wait a while for the Portugese is it going to feel like two similar wacthes (albeit completely different complications levels)?

    Cheers

    Alex

I would add the Portuguese 5033 next.  The BP PC would be amazing though.

    Hi Alex,

Hi Nad, thanks for the suggestion i would need to see them in the metal as on paper i am not a huge fan. i feel a trip to the boutique coming on

i have been in love with the portugese for years and both perpetual calendars have been on my wish list for a while.

True.  But probably not much different than a BP Perpetual.

Ben, I would definitely go with the 5034 as it is a stunning piece!! If the 5029-02 would be still available, than this would be my No.1 ;)

My IW500107 has been alongside my IW500901 for a while now and I'm enjoying them tremendously, rotating these 2 more frequent than others in my small collection.

I think you can't go wrong with any of the options you have there, good luck! I personally lean towards simpler watches within the stable of IWC watches.

All, I couldn' t start a new thread but this one is the same question as mine, want to buy a BP, either original steel or the Petit Price, but what are peoples views on all the diff models?  I think I prefer the 500201 and the 500908, but its easier to pick up the newer models, what would you all do?

I personally would wait for a 5002-01, its such a historic piece with the best dial layout IMO.

Of your choices, the 500201 would be my top one, There's always a few floating around the preowned market.

500908 I've been on the hunt for for months with no luck otherwise that one would be right up there with the 500201. I love those applied markers.

500912 and 500916 would really boil down to whether you like a blue or black dial.

    I'm going to pretend I didn't read that about the 500908.... :p

500401 is still an awesome piece. There were only minor upgrades to the 500901. 1 to do with the winding mechanism/crown tube I believe and a slightly beefier deployant.

thought i would come back and update you all on where i ended up.

in the end i added a lovely 5007 to my 5009. very happy with the choice

the two PPC remain on my list albeit it not looking like another purchase this year is likely.

    thanks for the advice

    Congratulations, what a great choice!
Seven day Big Pilot sporty watch + the 7 day Portuguese elegant sophisticated.
More to come sooner or later. The bug has already bitten, I think. ;-)

    Hi tilo.

Absolutely the big has been there for a while. Next up will be a Perpetual calendar if I can make the leap at some point.
