This past weekend I was fortunate to be able to join some fellow forum members for an absolutely terrific gathering and watchmaking class at the New York flagship boutique. The class is something I have wanted to do for some time, and to get to spend a little time with forum friends is just the best!
I first met Mark and his friend Allen who had just gotten in from Toronto and ventured to the village for a little shopping. In this store we ran into a Cousteau Divers that completed our trifecta:
On our way uptown

Inside other collectors had begun to arrive; Richard and Nelson look over Richard's CFI that had recently received a special polishing treatment:
Terry, Dick, Larry and Evan are all here

We had the chance to relax, explore the boutique and look at some of the gems from the collections on hand

Then it was on upstairs to the classroom...

Maybe time to switch from champagne to water...
I'm ready to begin:

We were actually all able to take our functioning movements apart and then re-assemble them and had them running without losing more than couple screws!
Quite an accomplishment (Evan is trying to figure out which watch he'll build next)
Better let our awesome IWC watchmaker/instructor handle this one...
We really all had such a great time, a huge "thank you" goes out to Hoa and his great people at the IWC New York Flagship Boutique. They did an absolutely fantastic job and were such gracious hosts.
After we finally left them for the evening a few of us ended the evening at a nearby diner for a last slice of New York (Nelson got the big piece).
