Earlier last week, I had the pleasure to visit with whichwatch (Dick L) at the Boutique.  See the prior report.  Yesterday, I again had the opportunity to catch up with a group of IWC Collectors at the Boutique.  Dawn, the Flagship Manager, was our host and she was a perfect one as we have come to expect.

This rowdy group of visitors are no stranger to the Boutique and NYC has come to expect them in the city. I think the mid-town police were on notice while they hopped around the city.  Dick described this crew as "The Dentist", "Stitches" (for his side splitting humor), and "California Cool" as this East Coast native has for a long time residted in San Jose, Ca.  To put some first names her to protect the innocent, thay are Nelson, Terry, and Larry.  It's alomst the three stooges, only funnier.

We spent most of the afternoon at the Boutique and some time at roof top bar that Terry found on Google. Thanks Larry, Curly, and Moe.  It was a fun afternoon.  I had not seen Terry and Nelson for a year or so and although I have been in contact with Larry over the years, we never met persoanlly.

It was worth the wait. I will let  the picdtures speak for themselves.

I'm not sure how Larry was allowed into the Boutique wearing an AP polo shirt.

We took uber over to the roof top bar and had a couple of brews together.

Finally the heavy metal in our small GTG group. The Rolex interloper belongs to the Head of the USA Rolex Watch Service Center, who joined us for a bit.

There were two of these special Perpetuals....they are referred to as the George HW and  the George W, #41 and #43, the LE numbers of these.

A great GTG gentleman !  Thanks Bill for sharing some highlights. That "special" Pilot Perpetual is just amazing. May I ask what the reference number is ?

Thank you Bill, it is always nice to enjoy your photoreport after an IWC get together. I know the photo angle helps, but the deepsea apears small compared to the IWCs. Love those Wempe pilot perpetuals, really nice!

    Bill,

It was our pleasure to spend the day with you; an honor really since you missed your own event in Amsterdam, which I wish we could have all attended.
It was a fun trip for the Stooges but as always, it’ll likely be costly as I’m pretty sure we all found a watch to haunt us until we cave in.
As for Larry and the AP shirt, he was in the AP boutique the day before wearing an IWC shirt, so it got rather confusing, and Nelson spent most of his time looking for a watch that he apparently dreamed up because no one had heard of it. I don’t know if it’s his age or exposure to nitrous oxide. With dentists, one can never tell. All we really know for sure is that the friendships we’ve all forged over the years are good for the economy in general and the Swiss watch industry in particular. I’m certain the GDP of The Netherlands went up at least a point during over the weekend. NYC probably didn’t fare as well as we always let Nelson pick the hotel, though I gotta say, he can still find places that aren’t on any map.

Thanks again for joining us and for the goodies you shared, and best regards to all of our fellow IWC Watch Buds!

    Terry

I can only say that I wish more of my IWC friends had been available- in fact, they could have pulled me away from the bars-perhaps that's where I dreamed up the watch- and too much food.
Bill and the whole IWC crew at the Boutique were great fun.  Of course it all went by too quickly.
So thanks Terry, Larry, Bill, Dawn, and all the other characters, real and imagined.
Even though it was a small version of the Amsterdam GTG going on about the same time, I had a blast.
    Now, back to watches...

Though we've missed you a lot in Amsterdam, Bill, it's great seeing you had some fun in New York with the watch boy group.

    Bill,

You are simply amazing and a trooper, coming into the City to play with us.  Of course, I apologized to Dawn for my sartorial gaffe.  Of course they refused to sell me the Offshore I desired at the AP boutique since I had made the similar goof the day before.  However I was much more successful on Canal Street and saved a bundle too!
