    Hi.

New here but been collecting watches for years.
I am looking for an Ocean 2000 and could really use some advice to what to beware of and what to look for. At the moment I am not looking for a Bund version.

    Questions:

    1) I assume the dial must match the reference. What I don’t know is what dial matches what reference. Am I right in the following:
Ref 3500 has the ”IWC International Watch Company, Porsche Design” dial.
Ref 3504 has the ”IWC Porsche Design” dial.
Ref 3524 has the ”Porsche Design, by IWC” dial.
Can these dials also be found on the Bund versions e.g. the 3509?

    2) I also assume the dial should preferably be a tritium version and not the replacement/service luminova version (SWISS MADE). Am I wrong in assuming this?

    3) Regarding bracelets I know there are several types and each type matches a specific reference.

    4) Is it possible to get replacement parts when serviced or is this getting difficult?

Any other relevant piece of information is much appreciated.

    Thanks a lot.
    BR

Use the archive function for many articles....

Here is an article from our Moderator, MF that may be useful as background info. The first place to check is the archives. Welcome to the IWC forum, the place to be for the history and tradition of IWC. Plus there are many very knowledgeable collectors here.

Thanks. I did that to start with but could not find the threads. Somehow I only get the top or first message in the thread.

It's a hopefully temporary software problem....

...the IT people said they didn't make any changes, but of course this problem didn't occur spontaneously. It must have been an inadvertent by-product of something else, and I apologize. I have an idea for a fix, but it may take some time.

However --as a temporary individual patch, try this. Once you find the "parent" post, do a second search for all posts within, say, 3 days after the first but without a subject. That way, you'll get most replies to the parent post.

    Sorry for the problem.
