Ocean Racer insights

Hi, my friends!
Today I visited my boutique in Vienna (again) and I head the pleasure to try on the Ocean Racer - and this I like to share with you guys - here you are:

here a few details:

also the strap its fantastic - rubber with leather inside ...

and an amazing backside

… and finally I´ve got my Saint Ex a new strap - the CF3 showed me how a strap should look like :-) And because the lug sizes are the same, now I also can use my new bracelet for both watches when summer comes ...

Thanks Christian - I know that I am not entirely objective when it comes to Portuguese and Yacht Clubs but I really liked this one when I tried it on with Mark and Clemens in the Amsterdam boutique a couple of weeks ago.
The new strap is for sure a winner if you're not taking it into the water.

Great pictures from "your" Boutique ;-), I really like the YC a lot and I am glad to see the Ocean Racer in you thread, because when I was in "my" Boutique in Zurich a couple of weeks ago, it was sold out already!

To please myself I ordered at least the new rubber strap with the croco inlay, which is for sure a winner!

By the way, as in Formula 1, the "IWC boat" is winning everything in the Volvo Ocean Race, how great is that? Betting on the right team twice in a season cannot be a coincidence, or? Maybe some insider information can be mentioned here at the forum? Like, do all these sailors of that boat wear that particular Yacht Club, as the Plastiki sailors were wearing their Plastiki Ingenieur? (Hmm, all sentences in this paragraph ended with a ?...)

Yes! Congrats to Abu Dhabi Racing Team (IWC Boat) they won the "In Port Race" in Cape Town as well. I don't know either if the team is wearing the YC during the race.
I know there is a special price during the race, for the team making the biggest distance within 24 hours. This teammembers will get an IWC YC Oceanracer!
And I agree with Paul, some insider information would be highly appreciated.

I was fortunate enough to try this on in Singapore yeaterday and it is a real stunner. I especially like the open rotor design. Being in the market for a new addition I thought it may be a contender but alas it felt like a minor variant of my current white dial YC. Did give me pause though......

Well, unlike all of the other decisive gentlemen here on the forum my favorite can change between breakfast and lunch sometimes. I still like the silberpfeil that Tilo is getting as well as the 8-day portofino collection, spitfire, cf3, to name a few. The dilemmas we face aren't that bad.....

No, so true. I change my mind about what to get next every other day. I basically have 3 incoming if you include the CF3 so I really don't need to think too hard for about a year!!

I was watching a recap of Leg 1 to Cape Town yesterday and the new Ocean Racer was indeed worn by at least 1 or 2 aboard Azzam. But several of the other crew members were wearing something completely different, or no watch at all.
