This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the Big Pilot's Watch Edition DFB,
released on the eve of EURO 2012, the UEFA European Football Championship. As
I recall, Germany did not win the trophy but they did receive some portion of
the 250 watches made by IWC to commemorate their efforts. Soccer players the
world over have long had a need for a pilot's watch and who better than IWC to
    fill that void.

I acquired my DFB at the grand opening of the IWC Boutique in New York City in
2012 after being plied with a generous amount of champagne courtesy of a
couple of fellow Forum members who shall remain nameless - Nameless Herring
and Nameless Levinsohn - and have enjoyed it immensely. I do think it's worth
mentioning that neither of the nameless thought enough of the watch to buy one
for themselves but now that it's worth almost $100k*, they aren't laughing so
    loudly.

    *rough estimate

    Mr. Russell,

I too was there when the nameless enablers provoked you with
bubbly and a magnificnent DFB in your hand. I aquired mine shortly after as
you were able to obtain the one and only one available at the BTQ. I would
love your estimate of the value to be true. My DFB says hello.

    New shoes added last year.

Indeed Mr. Russell I have fond memories of both the Flagship Boutique opening,
as well as the enabling that went down there!

... and yes, I regret not having acquired one at the time. Certainly could
have enjoyed the fact that it increased in value!

I remember well that weekend- and how I saved Terry enough money to buy that
watch by staying at a budget hotel.

    Did your blister ever heal?
