    Hello,

This watch has been given to me today, it belonged to my wife great-great-grandfather.
It is not running, I will try to find a local watchmaker in Serbia to give it a try in restoring old glory of this watch.

This is, to highlight the obvious, my first IWC, and I would like to hear from your expert community more information can this watch be precisely placed in any year, specific kind of IWC watch etc.

I have tried to make some half decent photos of movement and case, if this can help.

Thanks in advance for any information.

It looks like you have a beautiful IWC cal 73. If you could provide a clean image of the movement that shows the movement number we will be able to learn more. The case number 932888 dates the case to about 1932. It looks to be in nice condition, hopefully a watchmaker can easily get it back in good working order.

Number on  the movement says: 899528.
I have found online tool for dating IWC (moeb.on-rev.com/dyIWC/dyIWC.irev) and it says following:The movement is a LÈp. calibre 73, dating from the year 1929.
The case was most probably produced resp. delivered around 1932.

I'm not an expert at all in pocket watches, but this piece is a beautiful classic piece of craftsmanship and design inside and outside. Huge congratulations. One day I need an IWC pocket watch too!

I'm not an expert on pocket watches, but the watch looks pretty nice to me. Lovely dial with Breguet numerals. Maybe it's just me  but the small seconds hands seems a little short to me. Have it serviced to make it run again. Nice one sir.
