    Dear ladies,dear sirs,
is there anyone ,who could answer me the 'simple' question:had there been
    a reference number 139 (IWC tail-coat-watch) before 1974?

    Possibly.

Model numbers 123, 135 and 153 are known. Might you have an image?

    Yes,there had been.

As Mr.Ralph Ehrismann ( on March 22, 2014 ) pointed out, that the first water-resistant IWC pocket watch had the ref.212 ,showing an old catalog page, I see
another two watches on this paper: a pocket watch 18kt gold ref.139 and a wrist
    watch ingenieur ref.666A in steel.
Mr.Ehrismann published also the astonishing original prices of these watches,
which were indicated on the back of this catalog page.
    Greetings,
