    Hi
I'm new to this forum but hoping someone can help. I have a 9ct gold watch left to me by my late father. A local jeweler looked inside the case and found the following number 1753556 along with R805.
It has Arabic detail with 3 hands.
I'd love to know a bit more about it - how old it is etc.

Without a picture it will be difficult to provide better information. But, given the movement number, the date your IWC app reveals this first peak at what you may have.

The Date your IWC is not correct for this watch. A c. 8541 has a date function. Yours clearly does not. If you can give us the movement number to combine with the case number you suppled that will give us more info.

Hello. I am new to this. I have a lovely 18c gold pocket watch with outer case stamped 18K Hallmarked with a queens head and case number 277535. Inside the movement number is 2253601 peerless. S&co with the crown is stamped inside on the movement part. Not sure how to upload a photo yet....Please help me describe this piece.

Thank you again for your help. I've had a look in the case and the only numbers I can see are - C89 under the wheel that keeps it going (sorry don't know the correct term. Next to this wheel and deep in the watch and only just visible with a strong magnifying lens is 1723206.
The other numbers mention in my first email are on the inside of the 'lid'. There are numbers 9C 0.376 which I presume means it's 9 carrot gold. There is a strange upright rectangular box with 109 in it which is next to the 9C mark.
I can also see 5 'rubies' which I presume helps the moving wheels.
Can't see anything else of any note.

With this additional movement number and the original case number, here is the data on your c. 89 for the Date Your IWC database.

    i95.photobucket.com/albums/l156/wbarker75/Screen%20Shot%202017-11-11%20at%2011.22.21%20AM_zpstp8thx0z.png

This confirms the marking you see on the movement. It is a c. 89, one of the workhorse movements from IWC.

    Hope this helps.
