My Collector's Forum Ingenieur (CFI) #37/100 is back from a brief trip to IWC for a complete service. After almost 11 years of ownership, the watch was in perfect working order - but during a recent visit to a friend's estate jewelry shop - one of his employees who was admiring the watch walked off to the buffing wheel as I was talking about sending it in to IWC for a proper polish - before I could yell "stop!! Don't!!" He was off and returned not more than 100 seconds later with a proud look as he handed the watch back to me - I gave him a polite thank you - but the watch was a mess - improper satin, inconsisten over-polishing on the bezel, the bracelet was just awful.

While at the NYC Boutique recently, I left the Inge with instructions for a complete movement service and refinish/polish - and it looks amazing. I think a few strings were pulled to get this back to me in just a few weeks - for that I am appreciative.

Yes Mark, thanks. You were witness to the BEFORE condition. Sorry if that experience still haunts your dreams.

Richard, it looks fantastic now! Do have a picture of before? Would like to see the difference.
Mine had a full service in 2010 and was not worn again. Now I wear it since one week and I have the impression it´s prone to scratches, isn´t it?
    Best,

Very nice Richard. I know exactly how you feel.... the second part of the story, not the first thank god. Looking good.

It looks pristine and brand new again, Richard! They do great work in Scaffhausen when one sends a watch for "the treatment."

Jim - I should clarify that this watch was serviced up the road from you in Texas. Not Schaffhausen. Perfectly fine North American service center here in USA.

Richard I'd heard about the mishap, and felt the pain.

Very glad that IWC got it sorted for you.

Now that CF1 can make its statement for you, for the next 11 years looking great!
