So I got my vintage electronic watch with the idea of putting a metal bracelet on it. However after seeing how much/rare they are I'm going for another leather strap in the meantime.

Can anyone give their opinion on the authenticity of this one? Does it look correct and would 75 GBP be the right money for it?

    Thanks.

To my eye, this strap is not original equipment for IWC. I have not seen the cross-stitch at the shoulder of the strap on genuine IWC straps, although it is a popular design now.

    OK thanks. I'll look elsewhere.

So I've been in contact with the seller (a jeweler in Italy) and they tell me this is old stock and they did not have a serial number on old stock. How can I get confirmation from IWC that this is true?

At £75 it's okay but no idea on old stock carrying numbers or not. Paid slightly more for a croc strap for a watch with solid bars that needed acetone to fit it.

I received a message that this is an old stock strap predating electronic watches. Hope that helps.

Wow it really is old as my watch is 1971. Can I trust them though, it's not exactly cheap.

    Hi there,

Whether or not it is genuine it is definitely not early 70's... IWC still used the "balloon" logo printed, not embossed, on the inside until late 70's.

Wow, do they really not know what they have? I'm surprised a jeweler wouldn't know this. Where else can I buy one of these with confidence?
