I reported earlier on a very nice book produced by the IWC Museum. If you missed that report, please click here.

One could order it online, but only in German. That's now changed.

    · English Versionshop.ebnerverlag.de/ebner/de/shop/uhrenbuecher,241/iwc-schaffhausen-engeneering-time-since-1868---historical-selection,1187/

    · Spanish Version shop.ebnerverlag.de/ebner/de/shop/uhrenbuecher,241/iwc-schaffhausen-engeneering-time-since-1868---historical-selection,1188/

    · French Versionshop.ebnerverlag.de/ebner/de/shop/uhrenbuecher,241/iwc-schaffhausen-engeneering-time-since-1868---historical-selection,1189/

    · Italian Version shop.ebnerverlag.de/ebner/de/shop/uhrenbuecher,241/iwc-schaffhausen-engeneering-time-since-1868---historical-selection,1190/ (the Italian version is sold out but IWC will ship to Ebner as soon as possible more copies)

I know in the past that direct orders from this publisher took a long time in shipping. Hopefully you won't have that problem now.

+1 saves carrying it around Geneva.

I have made an attempt to purchase said book. My on-line German is non-existent so it will be interesting to see if anything turns up. Otherwise, it will be a trip to Schaffhausen.

Beware: I tried to order the book, which came to EUR58, with the shipping, but got a bit confused with the checkout process. At no point did it ask me for a credit card, just "Verkasse", and then a thank you message for ordering the item. So I don't know the status of the order, and how I will be expected to pay for it. If I get an email from the publisher, I will post a followup.

I have also ordered the book on the german website and 'vorkasse' means that you will first receive an invoice by normal mail. After paying the invoice the book will be shipped to you. Not the fastest way of doing business, but I am still confident that my book will be there around christmas time..

    Kind regards,

    Robert

I think this is probably a result of adapting Swiss practices to other markets. Here you will often receive the invoice with the merchandise or even after. The first time we ordered via the Internet here, my wife ordered some clothes and received them in a few days. The invoice showed up about a week later. When I subscribed to Watch International, the invoice arrived with the first issue. Just a little different than in the US...
