Good afternoon,
I have a collection of IWC wristwatches but have just acquired a very nice Pallweber pocket watch, the watch has intrigued me for years so its nice to finally get one. By looking at the other threads about these watches it seem that it is a Pallweber II from 1885, the serial number is 2121 and the 935 silver case has a Schaffhouse hallmark. All in all the movement, which runs well albeit very fast, is in remarkable condition with no corrosion but could do with a clean and proper service. The dial is good apart from a poor repair in what would be the 5 o'clock position.
My intention is to get it serviced and perhaps some light restoration on the movement and see if the dial can be made to look a bit better.
Does anybody here have any good recommendations for a watchmaker in the UK who might have experience of these watches? The same question for a dial restorer?
Any information or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Nick.
