Last week, at the NYC Flagship, I got to meet Ben Johnson. He's a member of the forum here and we were talking about movement enhancements and I mentioned my 5022 PPC was now 10 years old and just was in service about a year ago. He said there was a chance they upgraded the winding pawls on the Pellaton auto winding components to CERAMIC.

Wow, I thought. Then, I took the watch off and there they were!!! bLEW MY MIND!!! I never noticed until then. Such a great upgrade - certainly will help extend the service interval - and it looks pretty damn cool.

Very nice Richard. I'm surprised you wouldn't be made aware of such an upgrade when it returned from service? I would have thought it was something they would be trumpeting??

quick & dirty iPhone photo - see the upgrade and awesomeness in this photo. The pawls are a striking, white color.

Jarrod - not at all. This went un-noticed for over a year. Despite the bright contrast these new parts have from the original.

    Hi Richard,
I am glad you like the upgrading but purists might consider it a little bit differently. I personally would be less amused, certainly if IWC did not tell . Good that there are different tastes(=:
    Adrian,
