Thanks for sharing it here Oliver, we all appreciate being "in the know" :-)

What an exiting year it will be for me as an engineer and Formula 1 enthusiast - bring it on!

PS! Love the new straps - excellent move!

Looks like some great time pieces to look forward to. I'm particularly taken by what I've seen of the chronographs and the the 40mm stainless steel. Of course I'm a stodgy type with an old curmudgeon's preference for straightforward, functional watches.

Sounds very exciting. 40mm is a welcome move and some of the high end models will be amazing. If I was an IWC copy writer, I would link 40mm cases with the drag reduction system. F1 is all about weight management. A watch that uses KERS will be the one I shall look forward to seeing.

I hope some of this performance engineering rubs off on the Mercedes team which had a woeful 2012. I am hoping that their launch in January will bring some new developments that will make Lewis and Nico much more competitive in 2013.

Of course, in 2014, Formula 1 will be adopting changes that will result in smaller engines and lower cost performance? Now there's a thought.

Here is the first article I've seen about IWC/ Mercedes event in Brackley. The text is in Russian, but there soem very interesting photos like this one with Christian Knoop:

Now that truly is food for thought!

Smaller engines and lower cost! What do you reckon to the chances of that applying to our favourite brand? LOL!

I wonder if these means we will see pictures in magazines of Lewis Hamilton wearing an IWC instead of Tag Huer? Must be the real reason Lewis switched production teams!
