During a trip to Firenze last September, I was introduced to the delicacy they call Burrata.

"Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese, made from mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella while the inside contains both mozzarella and cream, giving it an unusual, soft texture. It is usually served fresh, at room temperature. The name "burrata" means "buttered" in Italian." (credit Wikipedia)

This stuff gets flown in from Italy once every two weeks and yesterday's batch had just arrived!

Happily I was wearing my Portuguese 2000 yesterday for the unveiling, so I hope this post still qualifies as 'relevant' on the Forum, LOL!!

MF, if it's not, I would understand if it gets zapped!

Mmmm mmmmm - looks and sounds great! I can't

imagine bringing non-packaged food through US Customs. You are lucky that Canada Customs must be more understanding. Otherwise you might have had to flash them in the eyes with reflection from the watch, grab the buratta, and run for it! :-)

    I think I know its flavor :)

Nad is a vulcano, as usual, this could be the start of a, let's say, weekly column, entitled: What are you and your IWC eating? :)

Just finished my Truffle Noir, now I want Burrata!

    Nad,
I can't be enjoying your gourmet postings when my tummy is empty!

I had to hit my local cheese emporium to see if they had any Burrata. Nope!

I had to settle for some Truffle Noir (yum!)
