Which disaster is this? Where they're not displaying linked images?
You should abandon PHotobucket unless you want to pay $400 per year for the privilege of them hosting 3rd party sites. Use Imgur or Flicr instead. Photobucket stopped supporting 3rd party hosting a few months ago, unless you sign up for their unreasonably priced service.
Photobucket has excluded 3rd party hosting, so previously posted pics do not show.
There is a fix, please follow this Link to an article on how to install a Hotlink Fix

In my humble opinion, I would suggest abandoning photobucket as well. Imgur is a fantastic service and it's still free. But I see on the horizon all image hosting services eventually migrating to a paid model. So we may have this discussion again in the near future.
As a side note, I'm developing my own image hosting service... stay tuned.
Thanks.
Nothing should stop your mom from fully enjoying her IWC-viewing experiences.
Not sure about Safari, but if she uses Chrome, go to the Chrome store, look for and download "photobucket fix".
It would be really helpful when we can post here pictures one day. Waiting now for 17 years for this feature. If there is a forum god up there, please listen. ;-)
I'm not going to invest time or money in hosting services anymore, the Photobucket experience was just enough. Certainly if other hosting services could also decide to kind of take hostage our pictures that are quite important for our forum.
So, I wait until the promised (quite some time ago) new forum software will help us, I hope the same picture facility will be offered as Facebook does, no dependence of a third party anymore.
Kind regards,
Paul
I've previously suggested that it is better to host your own site and post photo links from there. This way you control the images and a photo hosting site cannot restrict your images the way photobucket has done. I have no doubt at some point Facebook will restrict photos so that they are only available on Facebook thereby locking users into their platform.
Given the cost of hosting, with one site in the USA offering hosting as low at US$1.99 per month I'm surprised most don't run their own web site.

If software etc. is your hobby, or even work, I guess running your own website is an idea. To me, it is neither, I'm just a simple internet consumer: I want to enjoy what the internet has to offer with ease and for free. The internet is so big, as are my interests elsewhere, that I skip everything that doesn't adhere to the conditions mentioned. I am here at this IWC site for the watches and the contacts. It would help greatly if this site would accomodate my wishes, me assuming I am not the only one with these wishes. Having bought quite a few IWC watches because of this forum should be a convincing argument, assuming again I am not the only one.
Kind regards,
Paul
I think this forum needs to be modernised somewhat. Take a look at the Omega forums and they work beautifully on mobile devices, while you can add an image by simply dropping it into the window and pressing the insert button. Alternative forum options like discourse are also good for this sort of thing.
Personally, I've never used Photobucket, because any free 3rd party option is always at risk like this. I run a few websites, so it's no big deal linking to a folder on the server, but I fully accept this is not for everybody.
I read here, that one of the difficulties for modernizing the forum software is that the archive of previous posts should remain accessible. As quite a lot of pictures are not obtainable anymore because of the Photobucket affair, I would suggest: throw the past away, start anew with new, easy to use software. If you would like to know something from the past, instead of searching the archive (no mean task, in my opinion) just ask. It would make the forum a bit more interesting too: as quite a few members are new when compared to 5 or 10 years ago, they get educated for free, about subjects they wouldn't know you could ask a question about.
Kind regards,
Paul
I absolutely second that view Paul!

For those unfortunate Photobucket users can I suggest
This way the information, with images is retained for all to see.
