Pics of my latest: early 60's, 18K 8541 w/Turler dial...

Please forgive the pics. I'm using a 40 yr. old Nikon 105 macro on a cheap little digital body that won't meter w/said lens. So I just fudged around a bit to get a few usable pics. The white balance seems to be most accurate in the last picture which shows a large part of the funky strap. The dial in that shot seems to be most accurate in color. I'm between Nikon digital bodies right now and am leaning towards a used D700---sorry, I know I'm off topic.

The sellers were a completely delightful couple who are hobbyists and really seemed to care that I liked the watch. Lovely people..

One thing I'm not crazy about are the little lug "posts" requiring the use of these strange hollow watch strap pins. Have any of you encountered this set up before?

About the lug posts:
My guess is that back in those days actual strap pins did not existed. It was probably a simple bar that was welded to the lugs extremities. (I have this on my cal 89).

Concerning your watch, the bars have been cut so you could put these inverted spring bars, in order to be able to put normal straps...

Maybe I'm wrong!

I don't know about that, Guillaume..this watch dates from the early 60's so it's not really from the age of welded bars as seen on some very old vintage watches. But I'm not sure..Michael, what do you think?
