Looks like being a bit quite this weekend on this forum. Probably it is the calm before the storm of SIHH starting tomorrow.

Well, I take this then as an opportunity to deliver my promise and share some more pictures of my Regulateur which I acquired last week.

The box is pure understatement, as expected for this timepiece:

    And here we go:
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/Regulateurinboxnew.jpg

And a picture of the backside:
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/Regulateurbackbig.jpg

And while I was taking pictures, I thought I could share also some pictures of my little collection. Nothing compared to the collections of you guys I saw on this forum, but anyway proud of it.

With these two I started the collection. Bought at the same day, same place. One for me ... and one for my wife:
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/BPmeetsSpitfire.jpg

With the next two the collection continued. Again bought the same day, same place. One for me, and one for my wife. Eventhough I am wearing the Portofino from time to time as well:
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/Portofino.jpg
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/ATFront.jpg

Then the big moment in time arrived. A Perpetual Calendar. Even a very special Perpetual Calendar:
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/DVKK.jpg

And last week my wife acquired for me that nice little Regulateur:
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/RegulateurMap.jpg

So, it looks like I am on the right way. From one for me, one for you, we moved to one and a half for me and a half for you, and now we are at two for me:-))

To those of you who are at SIHH, enjoy, have fun, get inspired, and don't forget to post pics along with your impressions.

And not many have got a plat of anything so .... You have nothing to apologise for. You have a watch for all tasks in that collection and the fact that you have looked after your wife as well, makes life a little less troublesome, so I have found!!

Nice posting Giovanni - your collection is looking so good, one has to be wondering what next?

Cant wait to see the regulator...it's the only one in your collection, that I have not as yet actually seen on your wrist!!!

Wear in good health, and enjoy.

    Best regards

    Hey Giovanni,

your collection is wonderful and you even bought watches for your wife which in fact is VERY diplomatic.
That's what I didn't do by now. And my collection is much smaller (see pic).

So I decided to respect my wife more in the future. That's why she'll get the chrono, and because it fits her perfectly.
Again that's why I have to go for a new Pilot's watch. And again that's why eventually the Portugieser will have to leave my collection.
But it's all not done or finished. We'll see. Much depends on the novelties. So I'm very keen on the first glance tomorrow.
The Miranmar chrono is not completely my cup of tea. I'll wait for the other news.

    Thanks Tilo.
Such a Pilot Chrono must look wonderful on a female's wrist. I am sure she will be very happy about it.
Btw, that brings me to a different story: I once saw at Munich airport a business lady, slim, good looking, grey pantsuit ... and at her wrist she was wearing a Big Pilot. Wow, that was looking great. This massive timepiece on her graceful wrist. It was an unbelievable picture. As if it would be something forbidden, nasty, but at the same time attracting, powerful. I would have never thought that this combination creates such an effect.
Tried then to convince my wife to wear a BP, but she just said "Jump in a lake":-)

    Hi Giovanni,
quite a few women wear Big Pilot's watches even here in the forum. I didn't read from Nicky quite a while but I was absent as well.
Great watches look even greater on a lady's wrist.

    Tilo,

All you say is fair, and yes your lady deserves the Pilot (if she likes it), and it does look good on a womans wrsit too! BUT......I feel complelled (and slightly alarmed on your behalf) as to the sentence that I have bold and highlighted in your posting.

Please think twice about this descision, as others before who have moved that particular watch out of their collection (even to facilitate other watches) somehow have always ended up regretting that desicion! It's such a classic IWC, that once it leaves your possession - you more than likely too, will not rest until you have one back in the collection. So please think twice.

Now of course, that could mean that the New Pilot (and this week you will get to see more of the new Pilots) might take longer to reach you...but that, is what is part of all our collections and passion for IWC - the wait before owning that "other New IWC" :~)

    Best regards

Congratulation to this beautiful collection. Wonderful description for the prevention of solutions within the domestic community. Perhaps, I need to do the same in order to have a peacefull time at home ;-) Thanks for the photos !

@ Giovanni - Simply stunning, your king and queen watches simply say CLASS and RESPECT - with bold letters :-)

@ Tilo - I must utter my agreement with Mark, I would really think hard about letting that Portuguese go - that is in icon and should be part of any collection!!

    Hi Mark (and Skule),

thank you for your kind warning. It wasn't, isn't and won't be an easy decision. That's what I know. And if I could wait a little longer, e. g. for a new Pilot from the new collection, I'd do it.
    BUT:
My desired replacement Pilot's watch is one that has today disappeared from this website and is quite hard to find. I guess it won't be produced anymore from this day on. Not every AD has one in stock and I'm quite sure the last ones will be gone soon. That's why there's not too much time to loose on that matter. I've almost ignored this watch since it appeared 5 years ago. And now I have to do something if I want it.
Of course you know which watch I mean!? ;-)

Your new Regulateur is a beautiful addition to wonderful IWC collection. I think having the KK DaVinci in the mix is a plus. Thanks for sharing with us!
