I am new to this forum and to IWC. How could I have overlooked such a wonderfull watch company? I am now able to learn about the models that I am discovering and the history of IWC thanks to your very freindly and informative forum. I am unable to contribute much as yet but in gratitude would like to show you a few pictures of my recently purchased ref. 5001.
The watch was purchase at the Geneva boutique, where I was very impressed by their professionalism.
I read on this forum that there is now a wide choice of IWC watches at the Geneva airport, that is true. The advantage of the boutique is of course the unbeatable array of watches on offer but also the ability to offer special service. I had called the boutique 3 days prior to my visit to make sure that they had the 3 types of 5001 that I wanted to see in order to make up my mind. They did not have the one that I ultimately purchased but they duly ordered it and reserved the other 2. I was also able to order an additional brown strap via email a couple of days after the purchase of the watch. The strap came by express courrier to the boutique in time for me to pick it up the day after a couple of hours before flying form Geneva airport. What I also found at the boutique is much affability, a warm welcome and .... yes a very competitive price (I won't say more but you will understand what I mean) for I did check with the prices on offer at the airport.
I nearly forgot, I left the boutique with IWC wonderful catalogue (2010-11) and latest copy of their magazin.
Thanks for reading and thank you again for a vey nice forum.
