    Hi there,

As stated earlier, I wanted to get a macro lens for some time now. Since Canon has a nice cash back action here in NL, it was the right time to strike!

The lens I got is the Canon EFS 60 mm Macro and I have started playing with it a bit. The one thing I noticed immediately is that it needs plenty of light, using it with artificial light isn't ideal but fortunately, some corrections can be done with the proper editing tools.

Here are a few shots I took, I will certainly need some time to get used to this new way of taking pictures!

Wrist shot, rather difficult with a big SLR camera:

Finally a closeup of the indices that shows they are blue:

Experiment with artificial light. I had to correct the colors substantially since the Auto WB mode made the picture too brown and the TL WB mode made it too harsh:

I finally got it right by manually adjusting the white balance for black, white and grey.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

PS: I will have to clean the watches better before taking pictures too as you can see everything now :-)

    Clemons,

With the macro, I can now see perfectly the "embossed" markers. Thought they were "cutout" when you first posted that Pisa Perp beauty.

    Fabulous watch !!!

Obviously a great investment on the Marco lens, Clemens. You captured the subtle details of the ppc dial.

    Great photos.

My short experience is that it takes a lot of practice and that the light is the key. Here is one of my attempts with my Big Inge.

    Clemens -

You captured the blued-steel hands so well. I have not worn my 5021 for several months - perhaps I need to get that guy out for some cocktails....
