It looks like an IWC Aquatimer Chronograph from about 10 years ago. If you Google "Aquatimer Chronograph" you can find similar models and get an idea of value, etc.
Hello Christian. Michael's key words here are "looks like". Unfortunately it is a counterfeit. It never ceases to amaze me how many grandfathers have passed on counterfeit watches to their grand kids!!!
It took me a short while to see it, and I checked. As far as I know there never was a black dial Cousteau, and here they "forgot" the day next to the date. Closer inspection of the pictures show that the finishing is not so sharp and clean, often a dead give away: quality shows! So I guess I agree that this is a fake. Maybe it is a good idea to check at an IWC AD to see the real deal: you might like it!
Kind regards,
Paul
It's not clear to me that the watch is a fake just from viewing a photograph.Your best option is to take the watch to an authorised IWC dealer or boutique.
For sure a fake. Sorry to tell, I hope your grandfather didn't pay real money for it.
