I just picked up the little baby on the left. It's a Calibre 64 "pendant" watch --the sort of thing ladies wore on chains. In a sense buying this watch was a mistake --I thought the movement was among the first 64's IWC produced. It's a little later, but there was instead a very nice surprise. The case has a display back, which is quite rare.

The middle one is a cal. 77 --a "normal" sized pocket watch. To the right is a really large one --a "de-Nazified" German Navy c. 67 that's a whopping 57mm wide.

On the small one --my wife finally has found an IWC watch she'll wear. I still need to work on her relative to a 3714 with diamonds.

    Regards,
    Michael

    I always enjoy postings...

with pictures and commentary about your pocket watch collection. The pendant watch appears to be in excellent shape. Approximately what year was it produced? It's a real beauty, Michael!

    Best regards,
    Jim

    it's 1909...

..the first calibre 64 was made in 1893. I had misread the serial number and thought this one was made then. It also has unusual and early plate decoration, which lead me to believe that it was earlier than 1909.

    Regards,
    Michael

    Size does not count ....

...and here is the proof. That little jewel on the left is absolutely amazing. MF I get nervous that you draw me into your world of pocket watches (currently only one Cal,95 from 1925 Schaffhausen refurbished in the collection here).

Thanks for posting this real interesting post. Look forward to photos of the display case back!

    Here you go...

...there isn't a metal back or lid - the caseback is the display back.

It looks smudged, like oil stained

Is this a deceiving picture? I would think the movement could do with some cleaning up. How does it run under the current circumstances?

    Kind regards,

It does need some cleaning but

    1. it works perfectly
      and
    2. It was a quick grab photo this morning with whatever light was available....I was hurrying
      and
    3. Keep in mind it is over 100 years old

Ladies pocket watches are often interesting and

    decorative.
