    Hallo zusammen.

The serial number engraved on the back, I believe, is normally found on the
inside of the case. If the serial number is correct and the watch is genuine
IWC, it places the watch around 1988. However, I do not recognize "IWC 117" as
a reference number, but my only resource is a catalogue from 1991. Any chance
you can post a photo of the watch, front and back? Of course, a photo of the
inside (case and movement) would be extremely helpful too, but I understand
that may not be an option.

Also, as this is an English-speaking forum, would you kindly post in English?
I managed to get a translation from an Internet service, but it is a bit
cumbersome for a non-German speaker like myself!

    From your
photo, it most resembles the reference 3514. Here (hopefully) is a
photo from my 1991 catalogue. The 1992 November price list states it retailed
    for $1,995 US Dollars.

It's hard to tell the condition from the photos, and just about impossible to
verify that it is authentic (though it appears to be). At least now you have a
reference number to research on eBay or other Internet sites. Good luck!

Sorry, just noticed the date on the dial in your photo. That corresponds to
the reference 3513 from my catalogue, which is shown with a steel bracelet and
was priced at $2,995 US Dollars in November 1992.

No diameter listed in the catalogue, but three different sales listings on
    Chrono24 each state 34mm.
