I have Portugese Chrono, Laurus Edition. Was wondering if I would swap the strap for the rubber Yacht club to make it more wearable at the beach. Is this watch hold up well in sandy beach conditions? Ie surfing.

Or does anyone know a good site to get aftermarket straps? particularly rubber

officially as you can see here IWC doesn't make them: see the IWC Workbook by keying in 5001.

The Yacht Club uses an integrated band which goes right up to the casing, so both timepieces would have to be identical for it to fit the Portuguese 5001, and I do not think they are.

There are definitely good aftermarket strap websites available - forum rules disallow discussion of them here however. But you can uncover some through google, or contact individual forum members privately (you're certainly welcome to email me :).

    apologies, my typo:

officially as you can see here IWC doesn't make them: see the IWC Workbook by keying in 3714 (not 5001).
