    Hi all,
I have this fantastic watch since eight years, never had a problem until last week, first of all I need to specify, that I use this watch from Monday to Friday, so punctually on Monday morning I need to wind it manually, so last Monday when I pick up my IWC, I've noticed one strange thing, the second hand of the chronograph was not at 60 but at 57/58, and the small minute hand was not exactly at 30 but shifted slightly to right, however I think that probably it need some maintenance and the mechanism need to be fixed and regulate.
But on Wednesday I noticed that it lost all the power reserve although I use regularly on Monday and on Tuesday, so it seems that the self-winding mechanism don't work anymore!
Someone else have experienced this problem with this watch?
What do you think is it?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Luca

Hello Luca, welcome to the forum!

Did you keep the chronograph running over the weekend? Caliber 79350 has a 44 hour power reserve and I think two days of inactivity (48 hours) may have exceeded its power reserve.

Also, are there any magnetic materials / fields where you stored this watch?

Has your watch been serviced in the last 8 years? I would suggest that you set the correct time against a time signal and continuously wear it for sometime – if the watch keeps giving you accurate time then the chronometric functions should be fine. Engage the chronograph now and see if it starts. If it does, then the chronograph function should be fine. Continue wearing the watch for about 8 hours and then leave it unworn. If it stops within just a few hours then the winding mechanism may be faulty.

Do let us know how it turns out.

    All the best!

yes sure , I know that the Caliber 79350 has 44hours power reserve, and this is because every Monday morning I need to wind it manually, but this is ok.

No magnetic materials or field near the watch when I store it

Unfortunately I never brought the watch to the service, and probably it's time to.
If I engage the chronograph, seems to work, even if the second hand it's not so fluid during its movement.
The winding mechanism is probably faulty, because as I told you before, I wound it manually on Monday and on Wednesday it stopped to work also if I have worn it.

    Thanks for the answer
    Regards

Its best to visit the service center then. I think 8 years is time enough for an overhaul. Once its back, it will be like a new watch. Do post some pictures of your beautiful watch once it is back. All the best!
