Portuguese Chrono suddenly +14sec/day

Good Morning everyone,
I have my portuguese chrono for a year now. I love this watch so much even if since the begining the small second hand is a little jamy. The IWC concierge advised me not to service it at the time and to do it later on at end of Warranty period. It was very accurate though at +2s/day right into IWC tolérance specs.

Unfortunately, last days, it suddenly became worse without any reason, with +14s/day with same usage than before. I always took great care of my watch, it never has fallen or even got into water, etc...

Of course on friday I’m bringing it to the AD for service and I will miss it for 4 weeks.
I’m just scared by the service, and that the mechanism could be affected by an opening, and this problem could come again and again over the years because of faulty model/unit.
Do you think I can get it back perfectly setup and I would be fine after ? I’m really surprised by the sudden inaccuracy...
Have you ever experienced IWC service under warranty period?

Don't worry
Your watch will come back from service as good as new.
My Pilot Chronograph is undergoing full service as we speak and I await its return.

Sometimes a sudden gain like this can be caused by the movement becoming magnetized by electronic equipment or computers. It's an easy fix.

Thank you very much for your feedback and your confidence in IWC services. I am going to IWC store in Paris. I am not sure they have a demagnifier there that could solve the probleme and avoid shipping and opening the watch. If not they will open it for full service and take advantage of it to solve jamy second hands issue also... I'll keepp you posted.

I checked and it seems that my watch is magnetized. (Lepsi app on iPhone) and when approching the watch, the compass on iPhone is moving frankly. I called IWC boutique in Paris, and at the opposite of Jaegger Le coultre, they don't want to unmagnetized the watch in boutique and they want to proceed to full service and open the watch... Don't have the choice then.
I think it is a pity to open a watch that could be maybe repaired in 5 sec without opening. Anyway, I'll keep you posted.

Find a jeweller who has a demagnetizer. They will probably charge you just 10-20 Euros to demagnetize your watch. If that doesn't do the job THEN send it in for service.

I called the IWC Boutique, and ask to demagnetize it but they only proceed to full service while sending it to workshop. I even tried to persuade them to demagnetize the watch and use Jaeger Lecoultre machine (my wife is a customer and it is same groupe Richemont) but IWC refused. So I dropped the watch and it will be fully serviced...
