    Dear All,

After not having used my perpetual for around half a year, I took it out of storage and wanted to set the date. I set it as prescribed, including the time but by mistak adjusted the date afterwards (thought the crown was in position 2).

The result is that the moon phase is no longer synced.
    So my questions are:
    A) can I keep using the watch or do I risk damaging the movement if I keep using it and should send it to service immediately?
    B) has anyone been in the same situation and what did it cost to repair? (In Europe?

Thank you so much for any help/advice you can give - really appreciate it.

Hello and welcome to the forum. If your watch is out of sync, normally it should not cause any further damage when you keep using the watch. To get it correct again, you have to see an AD. For the cost estimate, please contact me.

Thank you Tonny - also for the greetings. Unfortunately, I only found the forum in a moment of distress but there is so much good material and community in here.

When I first acquired my PPC I discovered that the moon phase was out of sync. I wondered how that could have happened and now I believe that someone at the AD did what you did to my watch before I purchased it. Although it can only be reset by a watchmaker qualified to work on such a movement, mine was adjusted fairly quickly under warranty. As far as I know, no parts were replaced and there was no damage done other than the misalignment. I believe the moonphase is re-calibrated during each service so if if it does not bother you you could always wait until you are ready for service.
