Tonny's wonderful Virtual Pocket Watch Museum and all the fantastic
contributions added to that thread, prompted me show another oddity!

The little known Portuguese Table Watch ;-)

It comes with a beautiful faux walnut case

And of course the usual box and papers

    Hi Mark,

    This is mine : cal
    67.Not
the condition of yours, but made in the same manner.

These table watches or paper weights were never made by IWC but they are
    after-market products.

    Regards,

    Adrian,

    (alwaysiwc).

Wow, they are true beauties, really amazing.

By the ovious exception of the one of Adrian van der Meijden, they have Quarz-
    Movements, right?

I also have two table watches with Quarz-Movements, an Aquatimer and an
    Ingenieur.

    Greetings and stay healthy everyone

    Philipp

Wow, Adrian, that cal. 67 example is quite amazing - do you know when it was
assembled like that and for what purpose originally? Was it a special event?

    Hi Ben,

The last calibres 67 were made in 1944 ( with the exception of a few B-Uhren
for the German Navy after WW II).

The desk watch I have has been made from an existing pocket watch which was
transformed to a marriage desk watch. I have seen other brands, made in the
same way. They come from East European countries. I hate marriages as some
collectors know and there is no excuse for a purist like me to have such
'thing'. Twenty years ago I used it when I wanted to bid on an auction in the
last 5 seconds. It is deadly accurate, runs always after one turn of the crown
and was never serviced for 20 years. Because it is so loyal to me , it may
    stay.

    Adrian,

    (alwaysiwc).

Hi Mark! I didn't dare to show my "Kugeluhr" in the forum, because it is not
    an
    authentic IWC.
My watch has a calibre 52 inside and runs very well.

Beside the IWC there is another "Kugeluhr" made by GUB in the former DDR
    (GDR).

GUB was the watch factory in Glashuette/S, after the reunification the
follower was the well known "Glashutte original"
