It is a limited edition I believe. Can't remember the details we saw at HK Flagship yesterday. Anyhow, Kelvin there is a Flagship event just for this in November. I will drop u an email.
The box it comes in (assuming its the same box sold) looks fantastic and some pics are up on facebook on actual wrists, though small:
Ooooh, one of the coolest large-diameter Portuguese watches i've seen. Hope it will look as good as on these pictures in real life :) I googled that the reference is IW390212 and price about 13k Euros... not cheap ;) SHING, it's not a limited edition but "only" a special edition watch.
Bought the 'standard' Yacht Club Chrono with silver dial only a month ago, this new model makes me wish that I waited a just bit longer:-) Carbon fiber, matte finish and Titanium - this version is tough looking! Great that IWC is moving more in the direction of durable tool watches - even with the Portuguese - suits the group fine.
I absolutely adore this watch. Even more so i love the folding clasp. If i remember correctly this was also featured on the Siderale Scafusia (perhaps for that watch in different materia) but not on other watches featuring a folding clasp like a Portuguese 7 days. Is this the new IWC style of making these clasps?
I agree! The Ti, 6 bar water resistance, carbon dial, rubber strap, deployment clasp, etc etc etc. make this a great "sports" watch. not only does it look great, but it is also wearable in just about all conditions.
Why do IWC have to make things so difficult for us - I have been mulling over my next watch purchase for the last few months and ideally want something that I can swim in, meaning it needs either a metal or rubber strap kind of "limiting" (I wouldn't really call the range limiting, but you know what I mean) me to the Aqautimers and some of the pilots and as I already own 2 Pilots I have kind of ruled out another Pilot purchase for the meanwhile so have been looking for a good condition Aquatimer GST 3536, considered the Aquatimer 3769 and the current Aquatimer 2000 but this new Yacht Club will go sensationally with my Portuguese 5001! I am not a diver (I dont even snorkel) so except for the aesthetics a divers watch would be lost on me. The Yacht Club bridges the gap nicely. Great job IWC, I think I may have just found my Christmas pressy to myself - next job is to try and get one in Australia as we tend to have a bit of difficulty with access to these limited editions . . . .
Ouch! That's still a sore spot around this neck of the woods! :>)) This is one of the most impressive sports watches I've seen. I think IWC hit all the right 'notes' on this special edition!
wow... another piece to tempt the sensations. the yacht club chrono is on my shortlist of wants. i like the matt Ti case... not fully sold on the CF dial yet, have to see it in the "flesh" or in this case, "metal".
Oh Jim, I'm sorry, I swear I thought I shoudn't have written that five minutes after posting (thinking of you) but then the damage was done, editing wouldn't have worked, sorry.
I give you something to console yourself: think of someone waiting for more than a century to win the world series and then you'll have a glimpse of my personal tragedy! LOL
Wear your tragedy with pride: no world series in your part of the world (and in our part of the Netherlands, although we became both world champions in baseball and bridge in October), but your age is quite impressive
Ah, the sweet taste of victory. My team, the World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals, is enjoying their 11th Baseball World Series Championship, second only to the Yankees. The Cubs and Rangers will have to wait another year.
This is OT, for sure, but I'll get my bragging rights in before this is deleted by a native Chicagoan.
