My wife recently bought me a beautifull Portuguese hand wound which is my first IWC by the way.

For it's best accuracy it has to be wound every day at the same time. I only wear in the weekends so I wind it once a week. I found out that it runs a stunning 59 hours in stead of the 46 hours it should run.

I'm obviously not complaining but I'm wondering if this is normal with this kind of watches.

I wind it untill it cannot go any further without using to much strenght.
The watch is brand new and bought at a official reseller.

    Any thoughts?

I have three handwound movements, the power reserve varies from 49 to about 53 hours. Far more important, they are very accurate. I let the least accurate regulate this summer, it is now my most accurate watch at about +1 second a day. Enjoy your beauty!

    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Hi Binz,
The P/R for a Portuguese hand wound ref 5702 or 5703 is around 60 hours so one full wind should last most of your weekend.

I assumed the ref. 5454 was meant, with the 98300 movement: this one has a power reserve of 46 hours, according to the catalogue. The Pure Classic has quite a different Piaget movement.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
I think that may also be the source of Binz's surprise with his P/R
