Woah, is this feature relatively new? I don't recall seeing prices on all the watches on iwc.com, very cool! Like! :-)

I just checked again and I'm able to see prices on pretty much all the models that I browed.

    Example screenshots from www.iwc.com/en/collection/portuguese/IW5001/

How strange. I don't see prices when I browse the site, and I think I looked in the same place you did. I get the same screen as in your post, but no prices shown.

Update - now I see them. Same place I just looked, but they weren't there before!

great to know, and great to see social media innovation with new initiatives and endeavors Oliver, and the rest of the IWC team !

OS - IWC Community Manager has written:

    Sorry for the confusion.

IWC has modified its website to present prominent contact centre and price information in the USA as part of a test to provide a higher level of customer service.

This service is only available in the USA for the time being.

    Best wishes from Schaffhausen

    Oliver

I love it! I, for one, love being able to see the official price right on IWC's site instead having to hunt for "what is the approx price for this piece" all over the Internet. Please keep this feature :-) love it!

I'm interested to know the IWC prices in the US. Because I'm going to buy my watch in NYC.

Dear OS - I happened to see this "feature" too, whilst I was logged in to the site via a wireless network in a hotel, in Dublin Ireland!

Of course, it's going to become more difficult to "simply" ask my better half's opinion of a watch now, when the price is depicted - right under the photo of the watch :-)

Great to see continued development on the portal.

How does this help retailers in certain countries if a US retail price shows a healthy discount and if a Dutchman in Eire can access the prices then so can others potentially. If I was a retailer in one of those countries I'd be anything but a happy retailer. It also adds potential validity to the grey market by giving official prices as a direct source for those grey market internet vendors.
So why is this a good idea?

Prices in some countries like UK are inclusive of sales tax, prices in the US are excluding sales tax, that is in no way a level playing field. This is really a bad idea and not thought through as to the consequences.
    For instance
Hey Shing, 8541, MF please can you post the prices local to you of model number X@&+ as clearly the forum rules re no price discussions are now clearly obsolete. Now argue logically against that request!

I can't understand this controversy. For years IWC stuck a price list in every catalog. And all you have to do is search Google online for a minute to get the list price anyway.

One more thought. In the states there is no way to include sales tax since every state has a different tax rate. Some cities, like New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia add on additional sales tax. Five states have no tax at all.

Oliver, you and your team rock!

Localized pricing on the corporate website is not a new thing. See Louis Vuitton.com and you find prices. (Don't tell your spouse, but Paris is the cheapest place to buy LV bags).

I note prices are only for the eyes of persons in USA. That worries me a little. As someone down under I would suggest if you intend to publish prices then do it for the whole world to see or not at all.

Larry you've possibly excluded the price of the double visit to Paris... :)
    Just joking of course.
