If you take a closer look at the dial details of IWC watches you get impressed by the workmanship that went into the design and excecution of these dials. I have tried to capture some of the details by playing around with my camera and wanted to share the results with you. Hope you like the pictures although I still have some difficulty with focussing with the macro lens :-)

    Kind regards
    Norbert

    Experimenting with details

Very nice pictures. I wonder what you tried. If you combine macro with zoom I always try as much tele as possible to make the perspective as natural as can be done. Then the distance to the nearest and most far away point are relatively closest to each other, thus enlarging the chance of getting a sharp total range. By choosing a very small diaphragm opening this sharp range is enlarged again, but you need a tripod or a lot of light. Did you consider these aspects, were they helpful to you?

    Kind regards,
    Paul, wearing steel VC Portuguese

    Thanks for the advice Paul....

The lighting was a bit poor and I guess I'm in need of a tripod to be able to shoot some sharper pictures with smaller diaphragm.
