It was briefly after I purchased my first IWC (the BP 5004), that I fell in love with this beautiful piece.
However, there was no opportunity to purchase one. Other beautiful pieces joined my collection, but the desire for this piece remained unsatisfied.
Luckily enough, recently I was able to get this piece from an esteemed collector and friend.
I am therefore happy to report that the project 5001-07 is successfully completed.

The 5001 was one one of the first IWC watches I saw in a catalogue that really really caught my eye - made me like IWC before I even knew I liked IWCs.

I spoke and I spoke...and I kept telling Giovanni, that no collection can be complete with this watch. I always had the feeling he was ignoring me.
Then, along came a fellow collector and said "Gio, my dear friend - you miss this piece" and like a cobra he struck! Of course, the told saying of "Buy the Seller, not the Watch" held true here - as the seller is a man of integrity and a perfect gentleman.
