Very nice, Michael. Thank you and the team at IWC.

Superb job. This is a beautiful watch and a great choice for a forum watch. Thanks to Michael and IWC for making this possible.
Regards,
Dan
When will we see more pics? Of the back especially?
Michael,
You've done a brilliant job together with Schaffhausen, this is really a great design!!! Classic and yet contemporary, just love it!

...nice job! Thanks a lot for that work. I like the watch. It reminds me also to the first St. Exupery- Edition, especially the strap, the case and the hands....I am a "vintage"- fan, so I am in! Please reserve, if possible, no 68 for me. Thanks again.
Attached "big brother"- pic...in blue ;-)
Best, Harald
Beautiful -- an excellent concept well executed.
Michael, a great big thanks for your tireless efforts in making this a reality. We waited a long time but you kept us in the loop all the way. Much appreciation! Another huge thank you to all at IWC involved in signing off on this SE. This Forum adds value and we are being recognized for it with yet another CF edition.
The watch...teriffic color combination and metal variation. I especially like the hues as they give it that 'retro' feel. Think it fits the Spitfire and it's legacy perfectly. The St.Exupery strap is a excellent choice and IMHO the right pairing for the look.
Can't wait for the additional specs/details and case back photo's. Never considered or been in a position to possibly acquire a watch sight unseen. Used to spending hours fidgeting in front of a AD's mirror/s trying to catch every angle of a potential purchase.
A few questions I have that may be answered in the details forthcoming or that may be able to be addressed now are:
Given a Faraday cage will be part of the plan, will the height of the CFP(3)? increase over the standard Spitfire model?
Will there be an option to purchase on bracelet? If not, will choice of strap length be offered ( i.e. XS, XL ) ?
Is this a deployant or Pin buckle design ?
Cheers,
Andy
Congrats. Very nice. Looks like it is already sold out. Cheers.

As I assume CFP will use the same outer case as standard Spitfire 3878, I'm just curious, what is the reason the standard model does not have a Farady cage?
BTW, I'm happy the CFP has the Farady case, as I feel that it is one of those things that make it connect with the IWC heritage.
Love the watch, thank you Michael! The vintage look really appeals.
Hi Michael, any more info/photos in the near future???
Thanks,
Jarrod
To answer a few questions:
If I recall, the Spitfire chrono has a display back and therefore can't have a Faraday cage (since nothing would display). A lot of people prefer looking at a movement, and IWC is justifiably proud of its in-house ones. But here we need a solid back for engraving, so we can have the cage.
No news yet. In August a lot of people in Switzerland go on holiday. I would think we won't have further news until some time in September. Sorry about that!

that!
I thought the Spitfire chrono back looks like this.
Maybe I have misunderstood something?
Indeed, the current Spitfire Chrono has a steel back, as mine shows. But it has no antimagnetic cage, as the specifications indicate. I was under the impression that the cage was left out because otherwise the watch would become too thick. If the CF3 will have such a cage, will the watch become thicker too? And will the movement have to be modified slightly, as with the 80110 (with cage) versus the 80111 (without cage)? I thought that a CF watch would be a production watch with some special dial etc. but not with a special, thicker, case, as that would become too expensive.
So the question is: will the CF3 have an antimagnetic cage where the standard Spitfire Chrono has not, and if so, how is that achieved? A special construction to make that cage fit after all? A thicker case? If the standard case is used, is it to be expected that the Spitfire Chrono will get an antimagnetic cage soon, or (quite unlikely, I know) was that cage already there all the time but not specified?
I am looking forward to know more about this fantastic looking watch.
Kind regards,
Paul
I have seen other claims of antimagnetic due to silicon hair springs on open back watches so there are technically options although as Mark states, they must have found a way to squeeze in the iron cage. There are degrees of antimagnetic which I gather alters the cage dimensions?
BP4ME, this is IWC...
The CF3 will have a soft iron inner cage!
