Yes it's quartz but it keeps very good time. Probably the cheapest IWC in my collection. But, it looks good on the wrist and I've been enjoying it for the last couple of days.

Well, a YC II with a strap case is very uncommon ?!

Would be interesting to know the ref. number inside the case back and the inside with the encasing ring

I have never noticed this combination before.

    Some details.

    Dear Heiko,

I have no tool to open the case back. It was bought about a year ago from an impeccable source close to the Rhine in Schaffhausen. The battery was changed at the shop, at my request, and the back screwed back on.

There's no number on the case back or case itself. It must be an early Chinese fake of an IWC quartz. I had better put it on Ebay before I'm rumbled ;-)

Combination is not so so rare. I must have seen many 10's of them over the years. I don't know the reference number but there is also one for sale at the moment in a popular site but although they show the cal 2250 movement in full glory they didn't show the inside of the case back.

The key difference is the first bracelet link is removed and this allows the strap and pin combination.

Next time the battery needs changed we will know.

The space between the lugs is different. It looks like the case for a bracelet would need some of the lug cut away to fit the same sized strap as a case made for a strap.

Yes, only the ref. 3211 has 20 mm space between the lugs.

All other refs. were delivered with bracelets.

If those authentic bracelets were broken, straps were mounted instead, but those small straps look just funny.
