    Hello all.

I recently picked up this Flieger 3706 chronograph and had a question regarding regulating.

All is well with the movement--the amplitude is good and the movement is in beat, but it loses about 18 seconds per day.

Looking at the Triovos regulator I'm used to the friction versions where gross timing is done with the index and fine regulation is done with the screw but on the IWC version the index has gear teeth that mesh with the screw so moving the index isn't possible.

Can I bring the watch into better time keeping with the screw alone? About how many turns would I need to make with the screw to make it gain 20 seconds?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone have some thoughts on this?

The recent watchmaking course we experienced recently concentrated on disassembly and reassembly only. I believe the next course will be regulation. You should get some answers then

Thank you Mark. I'll keep an eye out for that.

I'd certainly take it to a learned watchmaker who is familiar both with the ETA-Valjoux 7750 and the Triovis regulation.
    Best,

Thank you for your reply Robert. I wish I had taken it to my own watchmaker rather than back to the shop I bought it at. I posted about my experience in another part of the forum.
