    Hi there

I purchased my first IWC (Pilot's Chronograph 3777) a bit more than three three weeks ago at the IWC Boutique in Zurich.

    I love this watch!

I noticed that after precisely setting the time that it goes fast by about 10 seconds a day, right after I set the correct time. Almost 24 hours have past and the watch is already 9 seconds fast. Is that normal?

I'm waring the watch 24/7 except for sportive activities and showering.

I've read somewhere that I should fully wind a mechanical watch once a day when working at an office because the watch can get inaccurate when the spring looses tension. I'm pretty new to mechanical watches myself!

    Cheers,
    Rafi

    Hi Rafi
Congratulations on the beautiful 3777 :-)
Firstly, once fully wound, the automatic winding mechanism will keep the watch wound due to your regular activity. No need for daily manual winding.

Secondly, your watch is only three weeks old and there is a break in period before the watch becomes really regular. Give it a few more weeks to see how it behaves.

Try leaving the watch overnight, on it's side either crown up or crown down to see if that brings the rate down by a few seconds per day.
Let us know if that works and how about a wrist shot?

Thanks! I've read about the break-in time. I'll try leaving the watch on it's side at night.

    Here a wrist shot:

The maximum gain considered acceptable by IWC for your model is 7 seconds in 24 hours. If yours is still outside this in a few weeks, return it to IWC for regulation under guarantee.

Nice pic of a cool watch. Congrats.
