    Hi

I'm new to this forum :-)

I have a question regarding the power reserve dial on the Big Pilot, ref. 500912.

When looking at images on IWC and zooming in to the dial, it looks as if the power reserve dial has a lot of thin circular lines - Click on the image, and then a couple of times on the zoom(+) button:

    www.iwc.com/en/collection/pilots/IW500912/#enlarge/variation-1/front/zoom-3

But, when looking at regular images of the 500912, they don't seem to have the thin circular lines in the dial. This is just a random image after a google search:

What is the reason for this?

    Hey

There is no circular lines of any kind one the dial on the Big Pilot 5009-12. Why it may look like it on some pictures, I dont know, I have never seen it my self

This picture is from Bill B, a member one this forum, and I hope its okay the show his picture here.

Its the Big Pilot ref 5002, and this watch (the first of all Big Pilots after WW2) has got those circular lines in the power reserve you are speaking off

OF course, using this image is fine.  Here is one that is even more revealing on the circular lines in the Power Reserve subdial on my 5002..

My 500908 has the power reserve subdial with the circular textured pattern:

I have seen many images of the 500912 with a non-textured subdial. I have not yet noticed how the subdial appears on the new 501001.
