    Hi,

I will like to ask what are the tools I will need to change the straps myself? And is it difficult to do? What kind of precautions should I take to prevent accidentally damaging the watch? Or it is better to avoid the risk and get my IWC ADs to do it?

Also, I have a bit of problem getting a good fit on my wrist. If I used the 3rd hole, it's a bit loose, but if I use the 4th hole, it's too tight. Is it advisable to puncture a hole in between the 3rd and 4th hole?

    Hi, Ben
You should talk to your AD about whether there is different size strap that may fit you better.
As for changing straps, there is a tool you can get;and it's relatively easy to do, but it is also very easy to scratch the lugs. You should be careful about changing them yourself

There is a video in youtube on how to change the straps. Posted by an aftermarket strap seller. Sorry, I cannot give you the link now as youtube is blocked in my present location. I can PM you the video poster username but don't know how.

You will need a tool to change the strap. But if you are handy, a simple jewellers tool set (the screwdriver set with small heads) will do.

Biggest challenge is how not to scratch the lugs.

    Ben,

One strap changing tool that often is recommended is a Bergeron 6767F. This is high quality, Swiss made and well balanced. It has replaceable tip ends and can change out not only straps but buckles as well.

Protecting the lugs and case is encouraged until you change out a few to get a good feel for it. Taping up the surrounding lugs and case will help aid in preventing accidental scratching.

Regarding the fit issue...is the strap on deployant or a Pin buckle ?

Here is a look at what you need,

The extra bigger tip end for leather strap would be advisable.
