I was reading the About IWC and History of IWC, and I have some questions.

How did the founder of IWC, Florentine Ariosto Jones, planned to combine the outstanding craftsmanship of the Swiss with modern engineering technology from the US, shaped up the IWC? How IWC watches were built with modern engineering technology from the US? What are the advantages of modern engineering from the US to be more specific.

Does the German Tradition and Swiss Made of IWC still influence today's IWC watches?

What's the difference between Watch Brands located at the Eastern or Western Switzerland? Why are many Watch Brands locate at Geneva?

Panerai and IWC belong to a same group. What's their difference? What is their strength respectively?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi EDLIU
you have asked some complex questions that are not easy to answer without writing a comprehensive dissertation.

Simply put, Mr Jones used his mechanical and industrial experience in Watch manufacturing and using the hydro power available in Schaffhausen. Up to this point, highly skilled Swiss watch component makers were working independently as a sort of cottage industry. Mr Jones brought it “under one roof.”

To answer all your questions would take a book.
That book has been written:'F.A.Jones. His life, legacy and watches'
by David Seyffer, Thomas König and Alan Myers.
It is still available on the internet.
