Questions: strap of the ceramic Da Vinci Chrono

A few questions about the strap of this fabulous looking watch: please, could some SIHH visitors care to answer them?

How is the strap, is it nylon? It looks sturdy, but does it look like prone to wear and tear? Most importantly, how did it feel at your wrist? Comfortable, not too hard?

I wonder whether the strap size for this watch is the same as for the CFDV: any information about it? If so, you could order the black crocodile strap for the ceramic watch, using the deployant clasp of the ceramic one: is this made of titanium too? I guess it would really look classy then, if it does not already look classy enough as it is.

It's Calfskin that has been embossed...

Although I have not touched the strap, or seen this watch "in the flesh" yet - someone else who attended SIHH could provide more context. Although, some SIHH reports described this strap as "nylon' - I understand from IWC that it is actually Calfskin which was embossed with a "high-tech" pattern.

I think this really gives it a luxurious touch - and look forward to trying it on to see for real.

I missed this information, sorry: I now printed it out and will read it very thoroughly.

So, this is quite a nice strap from the material point-of-view, and thus fitting to this remarkable watch.

From the different pictures, and comments I also received by mail, it seems that this watch doesn't make an impression as being so big, although it is slightly bigger than the normal Da Vinci Chrono. The eye seems focussed on the dial and the bezel, and the quiet black ceramic case is more to the background, not so noticeable. I really have to try this watch on somewhere, and if it sits well, then this watch certainly would be a possibility for me: big and present yes, bling and overexposure no. The price that I got seems quite right for such a watch.

The folding clasp is steel..

I found that in the product info too. I had looked that up a while ago since I thought it might be nice for owners of a Ti BP Perpetual to have a Ti folding clasp as well.

As far as I know, there are no Ti folding clasps available, am I right?

Titanium Ingenieur, and the ceramic Da Vinci again

I always thought that the bracelet of my titan Inge had a titanium folding clasp, it at least has the same colour as the bracelet. I do not consider a steel folding clasp to be a problem here. The total watch looks great to me, oh, you all knew that already. When I start to become enthousiastic I tend to repeat myself.

I thoroughly read the whole presentation, this is one impressive watch indeed. One question really remains: how does the strap feel like? Being calfskin it must be great, and very special to look at too.

Elsewhere I saw beautiful pictures of the small Da Vinci Automatic in gold. There I saw a clear picture of the bottom of the watch, being concave, following the shape of the wrist. Is this the same with the ceramic Da Vinci Chrono? Any pictures of it? It would sit very nice then. And as I never saw the horns peek out of the wrist, probably also because of this concave shaped bottom, size is less of a critical factor, it seems. I really have to try it on.
