    Let's have something different.

Can we see your vintage IWC's, you need not be wearing the watch, and if you don't own one, post an image or a link to one you have found in the archive that you really like.

Use search terms like 89, 83, 66, 77, vintage, 854 or something else that you recall.

The attached image is a 37mm case diameter Cal 83, originally sold in 1943. It is on a rather short vintage stand.

Look forward to seeing your watches or those you desire.

    Cheers from the cellar

..IWC and would like to show one you desire is to show an image from the Vintage Catalog project (link below).

a hint about a vintage one I desire...

...actually, more than desire...check is being written today.I'd rather nor jinx myself by showing the watch before it arrives safely.

But herein lies a story, and I'll show now just a part of the watch. By the way, it is not a football --but could it be the predecessor of the Figo and Zidane editions?

    Regards,
    Michael

I'm not sure you can count the

3531 on the left as vintage, but the Cal 89 and 88 were great pieces I used to own.

I've been snowed under and I apologise for not posting. I have logged on briefly during phone calls but it would be very bad manners to post while conducting a telephone call. Some vintage time pieces knocking around in my house.

Yes, when is a watch "vintage"?

If the definition is that it is not in the current catalog anymore, then quite some watches I have are already vintage: titan Porsche Design Ultra Sportivo, titan GST Chrono quartz, redgold Portuguese Automatic small, yellowgold Portuguese Perpetual Calendar, redgold Saint Exupéry Chrono. Out of them, the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar is my favourite. Quite surprising, only my titan Inge Automatic and my steel VC (Vintage!) Portuguese are not vintage then. Or is vintage more than 30 years old? Then I have no vintage IWC, only a Avia boys watch and a Omega Seamaster de Ville.

    Kind regards,
Paul, wearing non vintage (still, for how long?) titan Inge Automatic
