    Hi ! Everyone,

I just bought a Portofine Hand-Wound Eight Days (IW510102) recently,
it is my first IWC and hand-wound watch,
so I would like to ask what I should pay attention
when I wind and adjust the time (date) of my watch.
Should I adjust to a designed time before I wind and adjust the time (date) ?

    Thank you.

    Louis

    Congratulations on a fine timepiece.
You can adjust the time and date at any time when the crown is in position 2. This is when the hands move.

It is not recommended to change the quickset date i.e. Position 1 between the hours of 9pm and 2am. Otherwise enjoy your new Portofino :o)

    Thanks for your reply, Mark.

I heard from other that it is better to adjust the time to 6pm before adjust the time (date), so I always wonder is it true. Also, if I didn't follow this, will affect the performance of my timepiece ? Thank you.\

I think the above suggestion refers to making sure you are not between 9pm and 2am only. Will not change anything or affect performance. It makes no sense to specifically go to 6 before setting the time.
