Hi I love the patina for this watch coupled by its lovely cal 89 movement. Can
someone help to share your views if the watch is original? Thanks so much.

The watch looks original to me.

The cal. 89 movement is indeed from 1955 and has an incablock shock
protection. The back lid has a case number which is higher (but not too high)
than the movement which is ok.

The dial and indices are typical from the period for IWC. I was worried about
he crown as it looks rather thin, but having the fish symbol is positive.

However, 2000 euro is too much, I would not pay more than 1000-1200. By the
way, it is not the policy to speak about prices on the Forum but for a vintage
IWC sometimes an exception is made.

    Regards,

    Adrian,

    (alwaysiwc).

What would give you doubts as to the originality of this watch?

Whilst the photos are not to clear or detailed, from what I see it's a nice
timepiece in a condition that can be expected for it's age.

2 things - either post both serial numbers here so that someone can date /
sanity check the recored for you, ot better still send the moderator a Private
message giving him the serial numbers and ask his opinion.

Thanks Adrian for your kind sharing. Indeed the crown has a fish, the seller
managed to send me some extra pics including the crown, unfortunately, he
still cannot send me a pic where I can see the movement and case red number
clearly. I will continue to ask for one before buying. The case back did show
    the refer as 1448858

thanks for your pointer on the price, noted that, this seller is selling this
piece for 800 euros. I feel the price is too good to be true has wanted to
check with more for views. Thanks for sharing yours

Thanks Mark for sharing your views, appreciate it. I am doubtful as the pics
are unclear and I am still waiting for a clear pic or video on the movement
plus the 800 euros is a little low.

currently, as I have posted earlier in my reply to Adrain, I only have the
case back reference which is 1448858, I am still waiting for
    the case pics and
reference. I believe this model is 1960. But I will definitely take your
advise of checking with the moderator once I have all the infor. Thanks Mark!

Good news - That is the case number (not Ref. Number). So you are half way
    there.

This forum is non commercial, so whilst no trading and "For Sale"
communications are allowed here and typically we do not discuss pricing,
sometimes for vintage pieces we can give opinions.

and I'm mine opinion the asking price is reasonable when you consider that you
would still need to add the funds to have the watch fully serviced - you'd
still end up (after spending both amounts) with a fine timepiece that would be
good for another 75 plus years.

So, the Date Your IWC app returns with "The case was most probably produced
    resp. delivered around 1959.

    That, would be about right.

Of course, with movement serial number it's a better check.

Thanks Mark for your help!!! I am still waiting for the seller to revert
hopefully everything goes well and I can land my first amazing timepiece that
is of so much character and history. Thanks so much once again
