ref number inconsistencies on the caseback

Hi All,

I am considering a Yacht Club 1911 (no date) from 1969. The new ref number
should be 811-A, but the caseback is stamped with 811-AD (indicating a date).
Any idea if this indicates a non-original caseback?

It's probably fine, especially in this late sixties period, casebacks were to
be used-up. That said there are a couple of monkeys around that chance their
arm at converting ref 1819's into YC"s...a pic or two should confirm.

for it. I might even get it checked at IWC to see if the numbers match their
records!

Thanks for the tip on the 1819. I did see lots of this kind of activity, also
with 1828s. I'll post pics of my soon to be 811 soon.
