    Hi Guys

I am new to this forum having recently purchased the above watch secondhand.
On my timegrapher, I noticed the watch is running at around 20 seconds/day too
    slow so attempted to regulate.

When I moved the stud, I went a little too far but now can't move it back as
it seems geared and the regulator pin is now moving with it. Does the stud
push down slightly before it can move freely - what's the trick here? I don't
want to break anything but now it's running about 80 seconds / day fast.

Should I just take to a watchmaker?

    Appreciate any input.

    Thanks guys.

Unless you are an experienced watch repair person, which I am not, I would
never attempt a regulation adjustment. You need a professional instrument to
deterime the beat and amplitude. Send to an IWC approved center for genuine
    parts, if needed.

    Hi Clint,

The regulator stud and the stud support are connected by friction. If you turn
the regulator stud and friction is quite strong, you will also slightly move
the stud support. This will also result in a change of beat error. Probably
you turned the regulator that far, increasing friction and now you also move
the stud support when moving the regulator stud. Nothing to worry about but
this is a task for those who are very well experienced in watchmaking.

Thanks WATCHHANS. Finally sorted the regulation by turning the little screw
near the + and -. I was able to tune right down to 0 s/day. You were right in
that I had moved the stud and caused the beat error to change but got this
sorted as well and now it is running perfectly 0 s/day and 0 beat error.
Amplitude is 301 which is great so overall very pleased.

    Cheers
