    Hi forum members
Are members out there who did an IWC-relume on their watch(es)? My IW371713 (2009) which I like has poor lume quality after very short time in the dark - almost inexistent.
    Thanks for feedback.

    Hi Foxbaker
My 3717 is also from 2009 and although not the brightest, my lume still lasts a long time and remains legible throughout the night.

I don't think re-luming the hands is an option.
Has your watch been serviced? If not, it may well be time for it. IWC will replace the hands if deemed necessary.

    Hi Mark
Thanks for answering. No servicing has been made so far. While it is running perfectly I was afraid to change a winning horse against unknown results. But one thing is important to know - yo say that IWC would, when doing a service, change the hands (and even the dial markings???) if not satisfactorily luming. I think I'll visit a nearby IWC boutique and let them decide what's best.
    Best regards Francis

Does reluming involve changing of the hands etc or is it reapplying lume to the existing hands? I love the 5002 BP that I just got :) but the lume is very faint very quickly. It does recharge and get bright if I hold it close to a light source but it loses the brightness very quickly..

Probably hands and dial are changed as probably cheaper and quicker than sending for new Lume application. Tritium lume lasts about 10 years where as its replacement lasts considerably longer. Tritium dials will have a T or two near Swiss Made.

So how do I know if the lume on my 13 y/o 5002 BP is as it should be or should be better but has worn down for some reason or another? Will IWC check it at a full service?

Hi Greg .. I thought, at IWC, Tritium got replaced by Super Luminova after year 2000 or so. I am not an expert on this stuff but faint luming is a down thumb situation. Anyway I'll check with an IWC boutique or Schaffhausen directly.
