Dear members,
I am new on this forum and firstly I want to thank you all for the advices I
have found for 2 weeks.
I spent Christmas in my girfriend family in Poland and her mother gave us a
watch which belonged to her husband's mother. My girlfdriend's mother though
that the watch was a "Patek Philippe". After opening we saw that it was
actually an IWC and using the serial numbers and the dedicated website we
found that this watch was made in 1935 which is coherent with the grandma
story.
I wanted to share with you this story and some pictures of the timepiece
because we decide to send it to IWC to restore it (and maybe found a proper
bracelet). The timepiece is actually working and we want to keep it as long as
possible, as a family memory.
I'm only concerned about the dial, which is not similar to those I found on
internet (no brand visible) but it might come from oxidation or from a
replacement (maybe during WWII to hide the "value" of this watch to germans).
All advices or remarks are wellcome
Best Regards,
Nicolas
